下一個星期三，五月二十一日，全世界的單車人士會為紀念在馬路上受傷及被殺害的單車人士而騎行。此沉默的騎行同時喚醒公眾對單車人士的尊重與關注。
去年，香港總共有十二宗單車傷亡意外，比零六年多出了33%，亦是近年傷亡人數最多的一年。大部死者都是普通市民，因在路上遇到不小心或魯莽的司幾，送命於交通意外 — 如五十八歲住在沙田的梁玉英，在街市回家途中因一架貨車在身邊近距離左轉，比她壓傷致死。。還會有多少宗？若人們可提高對單車的警覺性，或者不會再發生同類悲劇？
請鼓勵您的會員們和單車朋友們齊來參加 香港沉默的騎行，展示出我們的關心和懷念。

Dear fellow cyclists,
Next Wednesday, 21 May, cyclists in cities all over the world will ride together in memory of cyclists killed and injured on the roads. The Ride of Silence also gently reminds the public that we all deserve respect and consideration.
Last year, 12 more cyclists died tragically on
Hong Kong's roads, a 33% increase on the previous year and more than in 2005 or 2004. Most were just ordinary people going about their business, such as 58-year old Leung Yuk-ying,whow was riding home in Sha Tin after buying groceries on June 7, when a truck alongside her turned left and crushed her under its wheels.
How many more will there be? Or might there not be, if people were more alert to cyclists?
Please encourage all your cycling friends to come and join the Hong Kong Ride of Silence, to show we care and we remember.
And remember, this is a worldwide event. From Texas to Tokyo, from Santiago to Singapore, cyclists will be sending out the same message of remembrance and refusal to accept that this is right.
